Three main wholesalers in the Benelux were experiencing strong competition in their business. With a commercial joint venture they aimed to reduce costs and increase profitability.

The three companies performed their own purchasing, marketing & sales and logistics activities. Especially on the logistics activities they expected financial savings.

Evaluated different alternative distribution networks to compare logistics costs (warehousing and transport) and customer service metrics.
The optimal distribution concept was determined and numerous sensitivity scenarios were simulated to validate the impact on the business requirements.
