V&D is a Dutch retailer with 62 own department stores, which are visited weekly by about 1,5 million customers. They employ approximately 10.000 employees and have their logistics operation in sourced. V&D is via Sun European Partners part of Sun Capital Partners Inc. .
Opportunities
As part of their Bolero project, the realization of a new distribution center in the middle of the Netherlands, a Program of Requirements for the WMS had to be made to allow for selecting a WMS package to support their new warehouse processes.
Solution
Following the feasibility study and the business process workshops a Program of Requirements for the WMS was drafted , discussed and finalized including:
- Process descriptions
- Functional overview of interfaces
- Number of transactions to be supported
- Required Response times detailed out per transaction type.
- Security levels and contract and warranty requirements.
