Operational Support Digital Television roll-out
UPC NL is a leading provider of television, broadband internet and telephony services in the Netherlands. For television, UPC NL has 2.2 Mio customer contracts. As part of a national roll-out of digital television, (operational) implementation support was requested to smoothen the design, implementation and start up of the outsourcing of the logistic processes to the LSP, TNT Logistics.
Digital television requires delivery of Set Top Box (STB) to the customers home including all necessary information, installation manual and if needed other technical equipment.
After kitting predefined packages, orders are made customer specific and distributed through the TPP package network. After having designed all operational and IT processes and after having tested the process the real roll-out was started.
Increasing order volumes in combination with limited implementation time required considerable (operational) challenges. The most important target, not to have any shortfall in production and distribution was ensured.
