Description
Unitymedia KabelBW (part of Liberty Global International) is the second largest cable operator in Germany and provides digital & analog cable video, broadband internet and digital telephony (VoIP) services to 11.3 million service subscribers (RGUs) represented by 7.1 million customers. UMKBW’s operations are located in the German federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hessen, and Baden-Württemberg.

Opportunities
As part of a Pan European Supply Chain Optimization project of LGI, UMKBW wanted to relocate their German DC for their Unity Media (UM) operation and at the same time change to their European LSP.

Solution
The legacy processes and interactions with UM and forwarders of the former LSP were documented and analyzed.
Together with the new LSP the process design of the to be processes was executed.
A move plan specifying move processes, communications, truck loads, loading and unloading times, delivery address change over for suppliers was set-up.
On site supervising at the former LSP during picking, packing and shipping.

• Seamless move stock allowing 1 cutover moment from old to new LSP. LSP’s are located in different countries.
• No stock outs during the 4 weeks lead time of the physical move.
