Yamaha Motor Europe is the industry leader in developing, manufacturing and distributing motor cycles, scooters, ATV’s, marine products, power equipment and snow mobiles.

Yamaha Motors Europe was committed to improve their supply chain in terms of performance and costs for the distribution of their full product range in Europe. A new supply chain concept was developed, supported by new business processes, procedures and policies.

A new physical distribution structure for Europe was designed and planned for implementation.
To support the implementation of the new distribution network structure, the following business processes were redesigned:

  • Order management
  • Available-to-Promise
  • Order fulfillment
  • Demand planning
  • Procurement, DRP and inventory planning.


  • New business processes in sales and logistics that reflected the requirements of the new distribution network structure
  • Functional requirements for the new IT/system to support the new distribution structure
  • Increased reliability and supply chain performance.
