Assessment for DC
Estafette is a consortium of producers, wholesale, retail and consumers) in the area of biologic-dynamic and biologic food.
The current distribution centre in Geldermalsen was primarily designed for a wholesale function for vegetables and fruit. Nowadays the dc has a combined function for wholesale as well as retail with the last one being the main flow in the dc. Apart from vegetables and food, also dairy, chilled and dry groceries are stored and handled at the dc.
The current facility does not meet requirements of the logistics operation anymore. Efficiency of flows and requirements of certain products are under pressure. Several options are investigated by Estafette such as refit of current dc, rent dc in combination with refit (if necessary) and complete greenfield.
Groenewout is asked to help with the assessment of a dc in the neighbourhood of Geldermalsen which is on the market for rent.
