Happy, Healthy & Successful 2015
First of all, Groenewout wishes you a happy, inspiring and very successful new year filled with many enjoyable challenges and well-deserved accomplishments, both professionally and personally.
The world around us has faced very troubled times recently: the crisis in Ukraine that thrust Europe back into a cold war, with the MH17 disaster as the tragic low point, as well as military conflict in the Middle East and the Ebola crisis in Africa.
For Groenewout, 2014 was a year of two halves. We got off to a cautious start in the first six months, but the pace accelerated in the second half of the year. We’re seeing a gradual increase in market confidence, and companies are adapting their strategic plans accordingly. All in all this has led to growth in logistics projects and implementations, and we expect this trend to continue in 2015 which is why we are optimistic about what the new year holds.
In addition, we launched a number of interesting new initiatives last year which will further evolve and flourish in the coming months:
- Innovation Update & Network Session: The innovation session in December 2014 was a success, and from now on Innovation Update & Network Sessions will be held every 2 months for all our customers and partners. The aim is to discuss the impact of new logistics and supply chain-related developments at an early stage within the logistics community.
- Inventory optimization: We are collaborating with TU Eindhoven to develop a revolutionary inventory management concept which we will then translate into an IT tool.
- Warehouse Configurator: Last but not least, we are working to build an IT platform which will provide a structured framework for the many different solutions (whether mechanized or manual) for logistics processes within a distribution center. An initial beta version of the Warehouse Configurator is now available, and we plan to go live with this project in late 2015.
We will continue to keep you up to date on all these developments throughout 2015 via our newsletters.
Summing up, we have every confidence that 2015 will be a great year for us, with a healthy balance between logistics design studies and implementations. And, needless to say, we hope that the year holds equally positive prospects for you!
