Blokker creates new omnichannel distribution center
Blokker is transforming its traditional distribution center (DC) in the Dutch city of Geldermalsen into an omnichannel DC. This marks an important step in the retailer’s redesign of its logistics activities in order to keep pace with the changing consumer market. The new DC in Geldermalsen will further improve the company’s alignment with the e-commerce trend and enable Blokker to further optimize its store replenishment activities.
The logistics concept, which integrates the online and offline operations into a new omnichannel DC, has been designed by Groenewout’s specialists. The consultants are also involved in supporting suppliers in the transition, the realization of the design and the warehouse setup. The distribution center will include far-reaching automation and mechanization solutions from Inther and warehouse equipment from Still.
