Business Case High-Speed Service Train Fyra: How to optimize the logistic support system

January 01, 2013 3772 Views

Since the introduction of the high-speed service Fyra (the direct train connection between The Hague and Brussels) on December 9 2012, the Fyra service has been set with technical malfunctions leading to delays and cancellations. In 2012, Groenewout conducted a research on how to optimize the Logistic Support System of the Fyra to reduce the downtime. The research indicated that the Life Cycle Cost of the Fyra could be reduced with more than 50%.

This article is published in the January edition of the Service Magazine (Dutch version), discussing the Fyra business case and providing managerial insights in his new innovative methodology.
