The Gates Corporation is a market leader in automotive and industrial power transmission products worldwide. Based in Denver, Colorado, the company has numerous manufacturing and distribution facilities around the world and a European headquarters in Erembodegem, near Aalst, Belgium.

Opportunities
Gates had outgrown their European Distribution Centre in Ghent. Gates needed to build a facility (18.000 m²) that would reflect Gates™ position as a key player in the European supply chain for their industries and markets. After having started with local expertise, Groenewout was asked to advise in contracting and monitoring the local project developer setting up a new facility meeting all specifications of Gates and expected future growth.

Solution
Groenewout assisted Gates with contractual issues and in fine-tuning the distribution centre design. Furthermore Groenewout provided a thorough review of the project during the realization and ensured that work on the building was progressing to schedule and the building was delivered to spec.
