PRESENTATION GROENEWOUT
β€œIs there a competitive distribution network strategy for the chemical industry?”
Wednesday April 21st, 16.30 – 17.00

Alain Beerens, principal consultant & partner, will share his theoretical & practical experiences on competitive distribution network strategies for the chemical industry. Production locations in the chemical industry are ever more split up in bulk- and specialty chemicals, leading to segmented distribution. The production of these bulk chemicals is mostly transferred to the Eastern Europe and the Middle- & Far east. On the other side there is an increasing requirement with customers for shorter and more reliable lead-times. Transportation costs rise due to higher fuel prices, more road congestion and environmental costs. Through best practices Alain shows how the chemical industry could manage these logistics dilemmas, with a specific focus on network optimization and collaboration.
