Rieber Foods Polska SA is part of Rieber & Søn. Rieber and Søn is major supplier to the retail market, and is also a producer of ingredients to food manufactures. Rieber's brand Delecta is a strong brand name in Poland for cakes, bakery ingredients, desserts and preserved food.
Opportunities
Rieber Foods Polska SA decided to put production of preserved foods on the same site as the production of instant foods. Because of the overlap in raw materials used for both production processes and due to the state of the current warehouse, there is a need to build a new warehouse that will house all packaging and raw materials. Rieber Foods Polska SA asked Groenewout to come up with three high level designs of the “to build” warehouse.
Solution
Groenewout designed 3 options which included:
- Estimated investments for:
- Building
- Storage systems
- Moving equipment
- Warehousing solution footprint and layout at plot plan level
- The number of available pallet places.
The storage space was, due to storage requirements, divided into sections. The alternative of storing mass materials (sugar and starch) in silos or big bags has been taken into account.
